Description

Double Sunday by Petite Knit - Sandnes Garn

Double Sunday is Sandnes Garn's thickest variant of 100% merino wool and is the perfect base yarn: a thick, non-superwash treated yarn that can be knitted with single and double strands. It can also be knitted together with Tynn Silk Mohair.

Merino wool is not only insulating, but also wicks moisture away from the body and retains heat even when moist, thanks to the structure of the fibers. Wool can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in water before it starts to feel wet.

Our supplier has guaranteed that the wool we buy does not come from sheep that have been subjected to mulesing.*

You will find in this yarn everything you enjoyed with the fingering one. First, its composition: 100% merino, non-superwash. Soft for the skin, you can still machine-wash it at 30° using the wool program. Perfect to knit baby clothes, or a good basic sweater that you will wear often!

Pattern Ideas:

  • Technicolor Tote Bag
  • Marseille Sweater
  • Festival Sweater / dress
  • Champagne Cardigan
  • Ingrid Sweater

What you need to know about this yarn:

  • Weight: DK
  • Composition: 100% merino non superwash
  • 50 g / 108 m (approx.) per ball
  • 3.5 - 4 mm needles
  • Gauge: 20 to 21 stitches per 10 cm
  • Hand wash or machine wash up to 30°C using a wool program dry flat

*Mulesing is a practice used by some sheep breeders to make their life easier. You can find details about it searching the web if you are curious (or you can just trust us). If you are concerned by animal wellness, it is a criteria you will want to take in consideration for your future wool purchases.
